Dave Bolch, the creator of this chain cover spent years working in the bike industry. He worked on pro teams and with top athletes in the sport of cycling including Lance Armstrong.

One day before leaving on a trip, Lance asked Dave if he had any of those “chain condoms.”

As it turns out, Dave was looking for the right name for the patent-pending cover he had developed for bike chains and he decided that Lance’s name for the cover was perfect, and the rest as they say, is history.
