IRONMAN HAWAII 70.3 RESULTS 2011
A sensational run spit by a woman pro was the high point of the race.
There were 38 countries represented in the 2011 Ironman Hawaii 70.3. 1378(39 states) were from the United States and represented 39 states.
The next 3 countries with the largest amount of entries were 104 from Japan, 90 from Australia and 59 from Canada.
As expected, John Flanagan from Hawii was the first out of the water in 23:56 followed by Tim Marr in 25:15 and Luke Bell in 25:17. At the bike turn at Hawi, Luke Bell and Chris Lieto were on the lead.
By the bike/run transition Chris Lieto is in first with a 2:07:56 bike split.
That’s some serious biking. Luke Bell came in 2:03 seconds behind Chris and Matt Lieto is in third place about 85 seconds behind Luke.
Luke’s strong run takes him to the finish line first with a winning time of 3:58:14.

For the women Kathryn Taylor led the way in the swim in 27:26 followed by Bree Wee in 27:43, and Elly Franks in 28:14.
Five miles into the bike and Bree Wee took over the lead but would eventually be third into transition with a time of 2:34:27. Bree was passed by Elly Franks in 2:27:13 and Michelle Simmons in 230:28.
Both Elly Franks and Michelle Simmons faded in the run and Bree Wee was sensational and came on strong to win the to lead the way for the pro women in the Hawaii Ironman 70.3 results 2011.
It’s almost as if Bree used her experience as her guide and eased off on the bike to conserve energy for the run.
