Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 Results 2011
Ironman Port MacQuarie is one of 3 Ironman races taking place the weekend of November 5-6 2011.
Ironman Taiwan 70.3 and Ironman Florida will take place on Saturday and Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 will kick off on Sunday.
The Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 results 2011 will serve as the Australian age-group championship. The top performers will earn the opportunity to compete in the sold out Ironman Australia which takes place in May of 2012.
Of course Championship Points are up for grabs for the pros as they begin to look forward to the World Championships in the Fall of 2012.
The course features both a two-lap run and a two-lap bike course.
This could well be the marquis event of the weekend as both the men’s and women’s division feature some of the best and it should be an exciting day of racing.

In a Stretch of about a week in May 2011 Joanna Lawn won two international triathlons including the Western Australia Ironman 70.3 in Busselton, South of Perth.
Her time in Busselton was a course record 4:13:23 and her half-marathon time was a sparkling 1:22:57 which was a personal best.
It looks like it will be Joanna Lawn and Belinda Granger battling for the 2011 pro women’s title in Port MacQuarie on November 6th, 2011. Belinda may have the lead off the bike, but chances are Joanna will be making a charge somewhere out on the run course.
As might be expected, Joanne Lawn was the first out of the water for the women with a time of 26:00 with Belinda Granger in fourth place 28 seconds behind.
For the men it was Bryan Rhodes who was first overall in the swim with a time of 23:09 with all the main contenders within one minute behind him.
Joe Gambles is first off the bike with a 2 minute lead. He is followed by Leon Griffin and Christian Kemp.
For the women it is Jo Lawn and Belinda Granger who are on the run course first.
Joanne Lawn never looks back and is the 2011 Ironman Port MacQuarrie champion with a win time of 04:29:36 and takes top spot in the Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 results 2011.
Belinda Granger fell back to fourth place and was well off the winning pace.
Madeline Oldfield is second and Michelle Wu is third.
Joe Gambles never relinquishes the lead and his 2:14 bike split is good enough to keep him in from leaving the bike/run transition.
His run time of 1:17:31 is enough to hold off Tim Berkel who had the best run time of the day with a 1:15:22. His winning time of 03:58:15 earns him first place in the Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 results 2011.
Tim Berkel was not far back at 4:01:40 and Cameron Brown was third in 4:03:22.
Jo Lawn and Joe Gambles are the 2011 Ironman Port MacQuarie 70.3 champions.
