Ironman Chattanooga results 2017

It was pro women only featured in the Ironman Chattanooga results 2017

The pro women were racing for 2000 Pro Points and $40,000 in prize money up for grabs for the top finishers.

Top age-group athletes had a chance to claim one of 40 qualifying slots available for the 2018 Ironman World Championship in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii.

Kelly Williamson was the leader for the pro women after the swim with a split of 42:15. Liz Lyles and Skye Moench came out of the water in a virtual tie 2:58 behind Williamson.

Liz Lyles fought her way to the front of the pack and at the 90 mile mark of the bike had a lead of 6:15 over Jessica Donavan.

Liz Lyles built on her lead throughout the 26.2-mile marathon. With just three miles to run she had a lead of over 20 minutes on Jessica Donavan, who was in a tight battle with Kim Schwabenbauer for second place.

Liz Lyles goes on to claim top spot on the podium in the Ironman Chattanooga results 2017.

Her winning time was 9:05:33.

Kim Schwabenbauer won a hard-fought battle for second place, and Jessica Donavan captured a well-deserved spot on the podium.

Kelly Williamson had an amazing marathon and passed a lot of people while posting a 3:09:03 marathon, the fastest run split of the day.

Ironman Barcelona results 2017

Talented pro field races for the podium in Ironman Barcelona results 2017.

Even though the Ironman World Championship 2017 is just weeks away, a strong contingent of pros headline the male and female pro start lists.

Ironman Barcelona is one of the few Ironman races in the world that has a one loop swim and a point-to-point run.

The 3.8km swim is a single-loop in the Mediterranean Sea. The swim is followed by a very fast bike course that has very little elevation, and a 42.2km run from Calella to Calella-Santa. The run course follows the shoreline of the Mediterranean Sea.

Age-group athletes have the opportunity to earn one of 40 qualifying slots in the 2018 Ironman World Championship in Hawaii.

The winners of Ironman Barcelona 2016 were Patrick Nilsson and Astrid Stienen. They posted winning times of (a blistering) 7:55:28 and 8:54:27.

New Ironman Barcelona champions would be crowned as neither were on hand to defend their 2016 titles.

As the race got underway it was a huge pack of swimmers entering transition one with less than a minute separating them.

The fastest pros of all in the swim were Mike Phillips of New Zealand and Horst Reichel of Germany who finished with identical times of 47:56.

Antony Costes of France and Mike Phillips of New Zealand posted the fastest bike splits of the day and led the way onto the run course.

It was Costes and Phillips fighting it out on the 42.2km run course. At the 36km mark it was Costes of France leading by almost two minutes.

There would be no catching Costes and he crosses the finish line first in the Ironman Barcelona results 2017 in a time of 7:49:19. Phillips is second in 7:52:50 and Viktor Zyemtsez rounded out the podium in 7:58:03.

For the pro women it was Kate Comber of Great Britain leading the way in the swim with a time of 52:06. Five others also finished under the 53 minute mark.

Daniela Sammler of Germany, Lisa Huetthaler of Austria, and Kimberley Morrison of Great Britain all posted bike times in the 5:32 range. Daniela Sammler posted the fastest bike split with her time of 5:32:54.

It was Yvonne Van Vierken who was fastest of all on the run course. At the 35km mark she had a sizeable lead of almost 4:30 on Lisa Huetthaler of Austria. Daniela Sammler was in the mix for second place as she was just 32 seconds behind Huetthaler with about 5km to run.

The rest of the field was 12 minutes or more back of the three leaders.

Yvonne Van Vierken of the Netherlands takes top spot in the Ironman Barcelona results 2017 with a winning time of 8:46:18.

Lisa Huetthaler of Austria hung on for second place, and Daniela Sammler claimed the final spot on the podium.

An excellent effort by Katja Konschakin fourth who posted a 3:03:27 marathon split. She was coming on fast for a podium spot, but came up just a bit short.

Age-group athletes highlight Ironman 70.3 Super-frog results 2017

The top finishers in each age category will have the opportunity to claim one of 30 qualifying slots for the 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championship set to take place in Nelson Mandela Bay, South Africa.

There will also be 12 Ironman Hawaii 2018 World Championship slots for the military. There will also be slots for the top male and female finishers in the Service Academy Division, as well as the top athlete in the Navy Seal Division.

The Championship race will take place in Kona, Hawaii on the Big Island in the Fall of 2018.

The first five males to complete the swim were led by Konrad Mayer of Germany in a time of 23:15. Only three others broke the 24 minute barrier.

Brett King of the USA was fastest of all on the bike course with his split of 2:12:40. It gave him a lead of 3:38 over second place Davis Frease also of the USA. Luke Woolfe was in third, but 8:35 off the pace of the leader.

King continued to build on his lead on the run course. As he entered his fifth mile we was in front by over five minutes.

There was no catching King. He is the first to cross the finish line in the Ironman 70.3 Superfrog results 2017.

His winning time was 4:11:51.

For the women, it was Jamie Christy dominating the swim with a split of 24:56. She was the only female under the 26 minute mark. Only Kelly Motley reached the finish in less than 27 minutes in a time of 26:46.

The next three had plenty of work to do as they entered the first transition.

The race really tightened up after the 66-mile bike course. Kelly Motley was in the lead, but it was just six seconds over second place Meaghan Praznik. Taryn Spates was third, just 2:05 back of the leader. All three were from the USA.

Lauren Olson and Erin Earlywine in 4th and 5th were also within less than four minutes of the leader.

Meaghan Praznik took over the lead on the run course and at the 7-mile mark had a lead of almost two minutes over Alex Watt who was in second. Taryn Spates was third, 3:11 off the pace.

Praznik maintained her lead and is first age-group woman to cross the finish line in the Ironman 70.3 Superfrog results 2017. Her winning time was 4:46:17.

Pro Points and $50,000 in prize money for top pros in Ironman 70.3 Cozumel results 2017

As is usually the case Ironman 70.3 Cozumel draws an excellent field of pro triathletes.

The winners of Ironman 70.3 Cozumel 2016 were Mauricio Mendez Cruz of Mexico and Sue Huse of Canada.

They posted winning times of 3:43:43 and 4:19:35 respectively.

Both were back to defend their Cozumel 70.3 Championship titles.

As the race got underway, only Matt Chrabot and Mauricio Mendez Cruz broke the 22 minute barrier in the swim with time of 21:56 and 21:58 respectively.Four others were within 11 seconds of the two leaders.

Halfway through the bike, Chrabot was still holding onto a slim lead. He was leading a tightly-grouped lead pack of four that also included Paul Matthews, Terenzoe Bozzone, and James Hadley.

It was sure close at the finish of the bike. It was still Chrabot, Matthews, and Bozzone with just four seconds separating them. The rest of the field was far back of the lead three.

Chrabo began to pull away in the run in the early going and by the 11km mark was about a minute ahead of Bozzone who was running in second.

It was Terenzo Bozzone who proved to be stronger and overtook Chrabo. By the 17km mark the lead by Bozzone was extended to over 20 seconds as he began to pull away. Mauricio Mendez Cruz was in third place, but he was over three minutes back of the two leaders.

Terenzo Bozzone crosses the finish line first in the Ironman 70.3 Cozumel results 2017 in a time of 3:50:36. Matt Chrabot was second in 3:51:44, and Mauricio Mendez Cruz third in 3:52:48.

Kelsey Withrow was fastest out of the water for the pro women with a time of 23:24. Leanda Cave was only four seconds behind her. The rest of the field had over 90 seconds or more to make up on the leaders.

Cave was strongest on the bike and as she approached the 60k mark had a lead of almost two minutes on a chase pack that included Christen Brown, Stephanie Roy, and Sarah Cometo.

The rest of the field was three minutes or more off the pace of the leader.

Cave had a large lead after the bike, but there were some very fast runners behind her she would have to hold off.

By the halfway point of the run, Stephanie Roy of Canada was in second place and had closed the gap to Leanda Cave to within a minute.

By the 15km mark Stephanie Roy passes Leanda Cave.

Stephanie Roy wins the race in a time of 4:18:47. Cave is second in 4:21:45.

A brilliant race by both Cave of the USA and Roy of Canada.

Svenja Thoes of Germany rounds out the podium in the Ironman 70.3 Cozumel results 2017 with a time of 4:25.
