Tests showed that using Ginseng to lower blood sugars was a great help to people diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
Russian researchers performed studies that indicated that Ginseng in fact stimulated tired or weak individuals during mental and physical activities.
Studies also showed that Ginseng can be as effective as Caffeine as a stimulant to improve the workings of the brain.
If all this is true then it’s hard to find reason to criticize triathletes who use ginseng as a supplement to their diets.

There is also more good news for athletes. In tests performed by Russian scientists it was indicated that Ginseng greatly enhanced energy and endurance.
It would be worth while to do your research on Ginseng and determine for yourself if it might help you in your training and racing.
As with anything else the use of ginseng for athletes should be tested in the course of training and not in the days before the big event one is preparing for.
