Ironman 70.3 Japan results 2014

On Sunday June 1 pro and age-group athletes raced for top spot in the Ironman 70.3 Japan results 2014 as the 1.2-mile swim got underway in the Pacific Ocean near the Tokoname City precinct airport.

Only eleven pro athletes in total were entered in the race.

There were no less than four ironman 70.3 races taking place on the same weekend so there were plenty of choice available to the pros.

On the male side Chris McCormack and Frederick Cronenborg looked like the ones most likely to be vying for the top spot on the podium.

Keiko Tanaka pops up in quite a few Ironman races around the world and went into the race as the most experienced of the four female pro entries.

It was no surprise that the three fastest bike times were posted by Michael Murphy, Fredrid Croneborg, and Chris McCormack.

Basically it was a three man race as they separated themselves from the rest of the field.

There was little to choose between the three leaders and it would come down to who could manage to outlast the others on the run course.

It was Chris McCormack winning it over Fredrik Croneborg in a very close race and he is the Ironman 70.3 champion for 2014.
