Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens results 2012

Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens results 2012. Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens 2012 is the seventh running of the event and takes place on Sunday July 15, and joins Ironman 70.3 Vineman and Ironman 70.3 Racine as the three 70.3 events in the triathlon spot-light on the same day.

The 1.2-mile swim is out-and-back and takes place in Lake Stevens at the public boat launch. The swim course has been chosen to take place in the narrowest part of the lake to make it more spectator-friendly.

The swim is followed by the 56-mile run course that will take the triathletes through Lake Roesiger Park East of Lake Stevens and for the most part is rolling terrain.

The 13.1-mile run is the only part of the course that is two-loops and travels from the center of Lake Stevens through the surrounding residential communities.

SO WHO WILL WIN?

At first glance there seems to be three main contenders for the pro men who might take the top spot in the Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens results 2012.

Most likely Timothy O’Donnell will be going in as the pre-race favorite and deservedly so. He already has wins in Ironman 70.3 San Juan and Ironman 70.3 Texas in the 2012 season.

However, he is just coming off a tough outing in Ironman Coeur d’Alene 2012 just a few weeks ago and he may not be fully recovered.

This could well leave the door open for Trevor Wurtelle who won Ironman 70.3 New Orleans 2012 or perhaps Jesse Thomas who could well be the fastest runner in the field and could come from behind to take the win if he is not too far off after the bike leg.

For the pro women, Mirinda Carfrae should have things all her own way in this field and most likely will take the lead early in the bike and never look back. It’s doubtful she will be first out of the water with Christine Andersen in the race. Swimming is no doubt Andersen’s strongest discipline and she may have the lead coming out of the water.

Tennille Hoogland could be a serious threat to Carfrae for the top spot on the podium is she is fully recovered from early season injuries.
