Top pro field races for prize money and Pro Points in Ironman 70.3 Los Cabos results 2017

On Sunday November 12, a top field of pros answered the starting gun for the single-loop 1.9km swim in Palmilla Bay. They were racing for a prize purse of $50,000 and 750 Pro Points.

The swim was followed by a single-loop bike and a two-lap run through San Jose.

Age-group triathletes had the opportunity to claim one of 30 qualifying spots for the 2018 Ironman 70.3 World Championship.

Terenzo Bozzone led the way out of the water with a swim split of 24:19. He had plenty of company however. Only six seconds separated him from Matt Chrabot, Tim O’Donnell, and Kevin Collington.

It was Bozzone and Chrabot making a break on the bike course. Bozzone led Chrabot by 16 seconds as the run began. Tim O’Donnell had 2:30 to make up as he began the run.

At the with four kilometers to run it was Terenzo Bozzone leading the way by over 3:30 over Matt Chrabo who was still running strong in second place. Tim O’Connell and Kevin Collington were in a battle for the final spot on the podium in the Ironman 70.3 Los Cabos results 2017.

There was no stopping Bozzone and he takes top spot on the podium in Ironman 70.3 Los Cabos results 2017 with a winning time of 3:45:34.

It was no surprise to see Lauren Brandon lead the way in the swim for the pro women. She managed to create a gap of 1:10 between herself and second place Lindsey Jerdonek. Sheila Treveaven was third, 1:53 off the leader’s pace.

Race favorites Rachel McBride and Anegela Naeth had 2:40 and 4:41 to make up on the leaders.

Actually, that’s exactly what they did. By the time the dust settled after the bike, McBride was first and Naeth was second, just ten seconds behind her. Lauren Brandon was 1:16 back in third place.

Angela Naeth posted the fastest bike split of the day with a clocking of 2:19:12. Rachel McBride came away with the lead as the run began on the strength of a faster swim split that was two minutes faster than Naeth’s.

At the 8km mark of the run, Naeth had established a lead of about 20 seconds over McBride.

In the final few kilometers of the run Seymour, who was charging hard, claimed second place and closed the gap to Naeth to just seven seconds.

Jeanni Seymour timed her run perfectly and crossed the finish line first in the Ironman 70.3 Los Cabos results 2017. Her winning time was 4:18:23. Angela Naeth was second in 4:18:36, and Carrie Lester was third in 4:21:20.
