ironman shepparton 70.3 results 2011.
It was a big day for The Shepparton Triathlon Club as the Shepparton 70.3 was officially welcomed into the Ironman family.
Shepparton is 250 miles North of Melbourne, Australia in the state of Victoria. The former Shepparton half ironman secured a 3-year contract from the WTC.
The Shepparton course will most certainly rank as one of the fastest in the Ironman 70.3 family. The bike course is fast and flat and includes much of the city of Shepparton and the surrounding county-side. The run course follows alongside the Goulburn river and is also very fast.
The excellent course is one of the reasons the race often attracts some of the top professionals and age-groupers from around the world.
Now Shepparton will attract even more pros with the increased prize money and World Championship points up for grabs. It’s also an opportunity for some of Australia’s most accomplished triathletes to compete on home soil.
