Ironman Steelhead 70.3 results 2011

Terrible swim conditions turned the Ironman Steelhead 70.3 results 2011 into a Duathlon.

Just the same the Ironman Steelhead 70.3 results 2011 show that it was still a highly competitive race.

Even without a swim officially in the race due to the horrendous weather conditions it is not that hard to tell just how competitive the Steelhead 70.3 was for the pro men.

Of the top ten finishers, all were in touch in the bike. As a matter of fact it makes wonder if they were riding as a pack and the drafting rule was tossed out the window for the race.

Nothing much changed in the run and again the leaders must have been running in a pack as you can see by the run times.

The top six were within 2 minutes of each other. It was Tom Lowe hanging on for the win of the strength of an excellent bike time.

It will be interesting to see how this race is scored as far as the World Championship points are concerned.

Melissa Rollison is having a dream season and swim or no swim I don’t think the was going to be caught today.

I think that is evident by her simply over-powering 01:16:33 run that was almost 6 minutes faster than Heather Jackson’s.

Heather Jackson is one of the top female cyclists on the circuit, but Melissa was able to easily make up the two minutes she was behind on the bike.

Jones, Stephanie 02:27:42 01:30:23 03:59:46
Gregory, Caroline 02:30:31 01:27:39 03:59:47

It’s worth mentioning a few of the other races where Melissa stood on top of the podium.

She had a great race in the VINEMAN 70.3 and also won the IRONMAN MUNCIE 70.3.

She won both races with very fast race times and shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.

I sure hope she gives herself a much needed rest after earning top spot in the Ironman Steelhead 70.3 results 2011.
