Ironman Taiwan Results 2015

Great racing for podium spots the highlight of Ironman Taiwan results 2015

The Inaurual Ironman Taiwan race included a 3.8k swim off of Kenting Beach, a mixed terrain 180k bike, and a marathon along the coastline.

The race attracted some top pros and from the beginning it promised to be a hard-fought battle as several of the pros(both male and female)were capable of winning if the day went their way.

It’s always interesting when it’s a new course because nobody really knows what to expect.

What would the water conditions be? Would the bike favor the climbers or would it favor the speed demons who love the flats? What would the weather be like? Would it be hot, humid, or windy?

As the race unfolded these questions were answered.

Cameron Brown, Patrick Evoe, and Fredrik Croneborg appeared to be the pre-race favorites for the pro men as the race got underway.

However in an Ironman race there are no guarantees and just about anything can happen, especially on a new course.

Domenico Passuello of Italy had a spectacular bike split with a time of 4:32:16 to take the lead heading out onto the marathon course.

The only other male pro to go under the 4:40 mark in the 180k bike was Mike Schifferle of Switzerland. However his swim of 58 minutes only put him in fifth place as he began his run.

Fellow Swiss pro Patrick Jaberg was second after the bike and as expected Cameron Brown and Fredrik Croneborg were in the mix in third and fourth.

As the run progressed Passuello maintained the lead in the early stages and Croneborg and Brown moved into second and third spots.

In the final lap of three that made up the run course Croneborg began to close on Passuello.

Patrick Evoe was also running well and moved into third place ahead of Cameron Brown.

It was Domenico Passuello of Italy holding on for the victory with a finish time of 8:25:55 and he takes top spot on the podium in the Ironman Taiwan results 2015.
